Fiscal year 2023 as transition

Last year demanded a lot from us. Nevertheless, we were able to make significant progress. In particular, our latest chemical recycling prototypes demonstrate the enormous potential of our in-house developments. The team in Tangstedt succeeded in reducing the energy consumption of a heating system many times over.
Dear Shareholders, Ladies and Gentlemen
We can look back on a challenging 2023. And yet, we managed to set some strategically crucial cornerstones and launch key projects based on them. However, the economic and political framework conditions were challenging, especially the complicated, lengthy authorisation procedures from the authorities and administration in our young industry.
In our home market of Germany, we have achieved our first strategic successes and are making promising progress operationally. Our order backlog in plant engineering has grown to a small to medium eight-figure volume. In the tyre pyrolysis business area, initial steps have been initiated and concrete projects launched. And with the establishment of the production of AdBlue® , a business area has emerged that will have an impact on sales next year. Overall, we have taken important development steps in all business areas and made significant progress in some cases.
A world without plastic waste
We turn waste into raw materials. What sounds so simple is highly challenging and complex to realise. Clean beaches, rivers and streams, free of plastic waste. No animal dies because we humans simply dump our waste into nature. That is our vision and our daily drive. This is what we live at enespa.
We are helping to remove waste from nature, also thanks to our collaboration with the BioDesign Foundation. Together, we want to set an example and build solutions for tomorrow. It goes without saying that our work requires a lot of time, money and expertise. Together and with a lot of idealism, we can do it.
Outlook
We will pick up speed in all areas. Further locations are planned in Germany over the next few years. The partnership in the USA will be stepped up and systematically developed due to the huge market potential. The development is resource-intensive, not least because we support our customers very closely and retain them over the long term. In many cases, market entry is achieved by purchasing a small system (5 to 15 tonnes) before investing in a large system (100 to 200 tonnes).
The partnership approach is also an obvious choice because it promises us decisive competitive advantages and will form a foundation for our future growth.
Speaking of growth: around 10 billion tonnes of plastic have been produced in the world to date, and this figure is likely to rise to more than 35 billion tonnes by 2050 (without decisive countermeasures). The mountain of waste therefore harbours immeasurable potential!

His professional career has taken him to Italy and Germany, where he previously held management positions in major global corporations in the commercial vehicle sector. Cyrill Hugi fulfilled a dream when he founded enespa ag. With the support of his team and visionary investors, he strives to "make the impossible possible". The outcome is circular economy solutions aimed at protecting nature, which is something very close to his heart.
