Plant engineering

Every system we supply is customised for you. We first take a detailed look at your raw materials and the required oil quality and then decide which process technology modules are best suited to your needs.
 
The construction time of a plastic-to-oil system takes 6 to 8 months. Even after delivery, we continue to support you. Part of our concept is to help you establish a functioning circular economy at your site. We only consider our job to be done when your business is up and running. Because your success is our success.

Chemical recycling

We not only build systems, we also use them ourselves. Our production experience flows back into the optimisation of the process and helps us to produce more efficiently - i.e. more cost-effectively.
 
One example: our optimisations have enabled us to reduce energy requirements by a factor of 10. This type of optimisation proves that chemical recycling is economically attractive with our systems. enespa's plants deliver one of the best energy balances on the market.
 
Our end products correspond to the quality of a tradable naphtha. The price is based on the ICIS index value and varies depending on the crude oil price.

Oil refinement

Our oil treatment plants are located at our site in Hoyerswerda. We refine waste fuels, waste oils and so-called intermediates into high-quality product oils that fulfil all the required index values. The refined oil can be re-introduced to the plastics cycle as a drop-in product and sold at the current market price.

Highly complex analyses are possible in enespa's high-tech laboratory. This guarantees consistent quality.

Tyre pyrolysis

Collecting used vehicle tyres makes ecological sense. This is the belief of the Swiss Federal Council, which is entirely in line with our opinion. However, we understand "environmentally friendly disposal" to mean more than just the energy utilisation. We want to return old tyres to the plastics cycle so that they can be used to make tyres again. This is rarely done today because car tyres consist of rubber with carbon black and silicon oxide as well as steel and fabric, and incineration is easier than separating the basic materials.
 
Tyre pyrolysis also saves CO2. The life cycle assessment of the Fraunhofer Institute shows a net CO2-saving of 703 kg CO2-equivalent per tonne of used tyres. With our plants, we prove that the recycling of used tyres not only pays off ecologically, but also economically.

Research laboratory

Under the direction of Dr Albert Paparo we operate a high-tech laboratory at our Tangstedt site for analysing the physical and chemical properties of plastic oils. We make these services available to the public. As one of the few specialists in this field, we also support our competitors in analysing their samples. This type of co-operation makes sense in order to jointly establish the market for chemical recycling. This cannot be achieved alone.

In the small circle of plastic waste recyclers that use pyrolysis to produce oil from mixed plastic, enespa is currently the only company that operates its own research department with a high-tech laboratory.

AdBlue®

Do you have a diesel vehicle? Then you will need to supply it with AdBlue® from time to time. At our site in Bernsdorf, we produce the urea solution that reduces nitrogen dioxide emissions.
 
Why enespa produces AdBlue®? The idea of producing AdBlue® was sparked by learning about the growing and unmet demand for it when we discussed our plans to process waste AdBlue® containers through chemical recycling. Since then, we have established our production capacity and market presence, which also helps to diversify our revenue streams.
