enespa with a new CEO: From development to industrial implementation
The change at the top of enespa does not mark a break, but rather the next logical step in the company's development. In recent years, the focus has been primarily on technology development, research, and the creation of industrial solutions for difficult-to-recycle plastic waste. Now, the goal is to transfer these technologies into everyday industrial practice and scale them internationally.
“I am proud of what we have built with enespa – a vision has become a true technology platform,” says Cyrill Hugi. “Now is the right time to hand over operational responsibility to experienced hands. With Steve Döring, enespa gains a CEO who understands our industrial ambition and will consistently drive the next phase of growth.”

A CEO with industrial and recycling experience
His technological expertise and industrial leadership experience make him the ideal person for enespa's next growth and scaling phase.
What appeals to me about enespa is the combination of engineering expertise and industrial implementation. Here, we have the opportunity to consistently translate a technology into industrial reality and thereby establish a true circular economy in the market. At the same time, enespa has an exceptionally dedicated and competent team. Together with our technological expertise, this forms the foundation on which we will build the company's next phase of growth and scaling.
Steve Döring, CEO enespa ag
From technology to industrial platform
enespa's goal is to close existing gaps in the circular economy using modern recycling processes. Building on many years of technological development, the group now possesses comprehensive expertise along the entire value chain – from engineering and research & development to its own process and analytical solutions, all the way to industrial plant operation.
With its technologies, enespa creates tangible added value for industrial and waste management partners: plastic waste is recycled to a high standard, landfill and incineration volumes are reduced, and valuable raw materials are returned to the economic cycle. In this way, enespa supports its customers in achieving sustainability goals, improving their resource balance, and securing raw material sources for the long term.
With the new management structure, industrial implementation is now taking center stage. The focus is on scalable plant concepts, stable operational processes, and the targeted expansion of international projects. As a result, enespa is increasingly evolving from a technology-oriented development company into an integrated industrial company within the circular economy.
Strengthening at the strategic level
Steve Döring will be supported in the future by Gabriel Marinho Silva, who will join the enespa Group as Head of Strategy, Transformation & Global Projects on June 15, 2026. Gabriel brings international experience in strategy, industrial transformation, and scaling projects, including from his time at McKinsey & Company. He will oversee the strategic development and international scaling of the group.
Thanks to COO Joachim Vogt
As part of the reorganization, COO Joachim Vogt left the enespa Group in May 2026 to dedicate himself more fully to his professorship at the ZHAW Institute for Financial Management in Zurich.
The company thanks him for his great commitment and valuable contributions to the group's development. His previous operational tasks will continue under the new management structure, with the CEO assuming overall responsibility.
The next development step
For enespa, the coming years will be all about industrialization and scaling. The technological foundation is in place, the regulatory framework is developing increasingly positively, and the international demand for functioning circular economy solutions is growing.
With the new management structure, enespa is creating the conditions to consistently pursue this next step – with a clear focus on industrial implementation, operational excellence and sustainable growth.
