Project Wallaby Plastoil
Key figures
- NeoOil T5 plastic-to-oil plant with a capacity of 5 tons/day
- APR project investment including enespa production plant of approximately EUR 2 million.
With the "Wallaby" project, enespa set foot on the Australian continent for the first time. This marked the beginning of a success story. Wallabies are a type of kangaroo and also the Australian national animal. Because they only move forward, they represent progress.
The goal
The first revenues from pyrolysis oil sales are expected to be generated in the second half of 2025. The daily capacity of 5 tons is expected to be fully utilized starting in 2026.
Customer Output
The Dandenong refinery processes APR's pyrolysis oil back into plastics.
About Plastoil & APR
The project begins with Plastoil Managing Director Arjuna Wimalasuriya contacting Darren Thorpe, Managing Director of APR (Australia Paper Recovery). Over the past 40 years, Thorpe and his company have made a name for themselves as a recycling pioneer and market leader in Australia. Thorpe is passionate about the circular economy, particularly the circular economy for plastics. After a trial phase with our showcase pyrolysis plant, he decides on the enespa NeoOil T5 plant.
And so it all began
