Joachim Vogt becomes new COO

Joachim Vogt will take over the COO function from February 2025.

In this role, he continues the duties of COO Stefan Abele, who passed away at the end of last year, and is responsible for the business development of the individual business units.

Debut as an external consultant

Joachim Vogt and Cyrill Hugi met at an SME event on technological developments. Fascinated by the global potential of enespa's recycling solutions, Joachim Vogt developed a joint research project. The goal was to make the economic, social, and ecological contribution of plastic-to-oil recycling tangible and assessable. The study was carried out with the support of the Swiss innovation agency Innosuisse. In addition, Joachim Vogt serves as an external consultant on the sustainable financing and financial management of our projects. Those who followed our "enespa inside" information session on the day of the 2024 Annual General Meeting will likely remember Joachim Vogt. He was one of the panelists.

From external to internal

Joachim Vogt will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) effective February 1, 2025. His knowledge of our organization, his track record in industry and academia, and his solution-oriented approach make him the ideal candidate for this position. He will be responsible for our locations in Bernsdorf and Hoyerswerda. This role was previously held by COO Stefan Abele, who passed away at the end of last year. Working alongside CTO Ben Richters, Joachim Vogt will oversee business development for the individual business units.

Career

Joachim Vogt earned his doctorate in Corporate Finance from the European Business School. He subsequently worked in transaction consulting at Pricewaterhouse & Coopers and in energy trading at Deutsche Bank. He then worked at Seven Ventures as a senior manager in venture capital and at a family office as head of M&A and CFO. He remained loyal to the latter even when he moved to Heilbronn University as a professor of controlling. After six years there, Joachim Vogt moved to the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), where he is a professor of management accounting.
