New COO Joachim Vogt

Joachim Vogt is set to become COO in February 2025. In this role, he will assume the responsibilities of COO Stefan Abele, who passed away at the end of last year, and oversee business development of the individual divisions.

Career

Joachim Vogt completed his PhD in Corporate Finance at the European Business School. He subsequently gained professional experience in transaction consulting at Pricewaterhouse&Coopers and in energy trading at Deutsche Bank. Joachim Vogt also worked as a senior venture capital manager at SevenVentures and as head of M&A and a CFO in a family office. He continued in the latter role even after being appointed a Professor of Controlling at Heilbronn University. After six years in Heilbronn, Joachim Vogt decided to join the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) as a Professor of Management Accounting.

Role as external consultant

Joachim Vogt first met and got to know Cyrill Hugi at an SME event addressing technological developments. Fascinated by the global potential of enespa's recycling solutions, Joachim Vogt conducted a joint research project. The goal was to make the economic, social and environmental aspects of plastic-to-oil recycling tangible and assessable. The study was conducted with the support of , the Swiss Agency for Innovation Promotion. In his role as an external consultant, Joachim Vogt additionally dedicated his time to improving the sustainable financing and financial management of our projects. Anyone who closely followed our «enespa inside» info block at the general meeting 2024 will certainly remember his name. Joachim Vogt was one of the podium speakers.

From external to internal

Joachim Vogt will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) on 1 February 2025. His knowledge of our organisation, his proven track record in industry and academia and his solution-oriented approach to challenges make him the ideal candidate for this position. In his new role, he will be responsible for our sites in Bernsdorf and Hoyerswerda. This was previously the obligation of COO Stefan Abele, who passed away at the end of last year. Working in tandem with CTO Ben Richters, Joachim Vogt will be in charge of business development in the individual divisions.

Armed with a degree in Organisational Communication and Journalism, Dominik Dörig gained valuable experience working at an agency. He brought his experience in marketing, public relations and event management into the SME sector. After a decade working as a communications manager and management assistant, he joined the Marcom team at enespa in Appenzell in the autumn of 2023.
