enespa ag launches new location in Hamburg
enespa ag, which specialises in chemical recycling plants and technologies, has opened a new site in Hamburg-Tangstedt. In a geographically ideal location, forces are being pooled in a research laboratory, and a plastic-to-oil plant will also be built for demonstration and research purposes during the first half of the year.

The opening of the new site in Tangstedt near Hamburg is another important step for enespa ag ("enespa") in making plant solutions for the chemical recycling of mixed plastic waste, oil refining and tyre pyrolysis accessible to the international market. The Plant Engineering, Research & Development and Project Management & Engineering departments will be brought together at the new site, which will improve processes and quality.
The centrepiece is the plastic-to-oil plant for demonstration and research purposes, which will be built during the first half of the year. The plant components will be connected to the laboratory, enabling prompt measurements and adjustments. "The integration of the various departments makes it possible to optimise processes and production methods continuously on site. Thanks to ongoing further and new development, we are increasing both the quality and profitability of our products," says Cyrill Hugi, founder and CEO of enespa. All business units benefit from the synergies, especially plant engineering and the associated industrial services.
The majority of the analytical methods are accredited by the German Accreditation Centre (DAkkS), making the laboratory services accessible to external partners. "The fact that we will be able to process orders from third parties in the future thanks to the accreditation opens up another strategic business area. This is particularly valuable in Hamburg, where many of our potential customers are based," says Cyrill Hugi.
The new location also has advantages from a strategic perspective. "As an attractive business and educational centre with a large catchment area, Hamburg offers the best conditions for recruiting highly qualified employees," says Cyrill Hugi. The geographical location and the port, which offers a connection to the Elbe and therefore the North Sea, were also decisive factors. Hamburg International Airport is also in the immediate vicinity. The bundling of forces in Hamburg means that the site in Aalen, Baden-Württemberg, has been abandoned.
